WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

It is medical care that is deemed natural. Chiropractors will rely on the x-rays and MRIs to make the proper diagnosis, but that is usually it in terms of medical tools and technology.

They operate with a hands-on approach. This approach is known as manual therapy.

Often times, most physicians only treat the problem causing symptoms of pain and discomfort. Chiropractors want to treat these symptoms too, but they go directly to the source and fix it.

How Does Chiropractic Care Help?

Chiropractic helps to align the spine alleviating pressure on the nervous system which then allows the nervous system to function properly. The nervous system is the communication between your brain and your muscles and organs. With communication channels flowing openly, this allows the body to function at its optimal best.

I Didn't Hear A Sound. Does That Mean The Adjustment Didn't Work?

No. The sound is air escaping from the misaligned joint during an adjustment. If the adjustment is quick, typically the sound is not heard. The sound does not dictate a successful adjustment.

Does Insurance Cover Chiropractic Visits?

Yes, most insurance pays for chiropractic care. Each insurance plan must be verified.

How Safe Is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is extremely safe as it works with the body's innate intelligence. It never works against the body's needs.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe While I'm Pregnant?

Absolutely and definitely recommended. Chiropractic care aids the body in adapting to the changes as the body progresses through pregnancy. Chiropractic care assists in assuring the proper alignment for easing the delivery.

Can I Become Addicted To Chiropractic Adjustments?

No. The only addiction is wanting to stay healthy. Just as people are addicted to eating well, exercising, mental stability and the practice of happiness. Chiropractic is not a drug.

Is Chiropractic Safe For Children?

Extremely safe for children. It is very important, as the child grows, to keep their spine align from all their falls so that the spine will grow evenly. Maintaining a balance in your spine regardless of your age is the best way to steer away from dis-ease.

How Much Schooling Does A Chiropractor Have?

A chiropractor has a doctor of chiropractic degree and a four-year undergraduate degree. Chiropractors have a minimum of 8 years of college. They are trained not only in the adjustment of the spine but also in the anatomy, neuroanatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pathology of the body.

Can I See A Chiropractor If I've Had Back Surgery?

Yes. The activator technique is perfect as there is no twisting of the spine. But all chiropractic techniques will help in adjusting the areas above and below the surgery fusion. The best approach would be to receive chiropractic care as prevention of back surgery.

WHO CAN UNDERGO CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

Just about anyone. You will rarely find any restrictions or age requirements. If they do exist, they are the doctor’s own personal preferences. Chiropractic care, when properly performed, is safe for men of all ages, including children and the elderly.

How Long Will It Take To Work?

Each spine responds at a different rate but typically after 1-3 adjustments, you will feel a change occurring within your body. This all depends on the stressors in your life.

DOES CHIROPRACTIC CARE WORK?

Yes. Many individuals and some medical professionals write off chiropractic care as a questionable form of alternative medicine.

This is not the truth. In fact, chiropractic care is very successful.

Millions of men have used the services of a chiropractor worldwide. Many opt for continued treatment and care.

They wouldn’t if they didn’t notice an improvement in mobility and a reduction in pain.

HOW CAN CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT HELP ME?

Chiropractic adjustments remove the blockages to the nervous system so the body can heal itself. Chiropractic care is beneficial to all conditions and ages.

WHAT CAN CHIROPRACTIC CARE HELP WITH?

Just about anything.  If you suffer from pain and discomfort, a chiropractor should be able to provide you with relief.

This relief may not be immediate, as diagnosis and proper treatment plan must first happen.

Chiropractic care typically involves therapeutic massages or realignment.

It has been used to treat the pain and discomfort associated with arthritis, whiplash, and sports injuries.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

No. Most insurance companies do not require a referral. If you do need a referral, most primary care physicians will be happy to write you one. Patients who are using their veteran benefits will need a referral from their PCP. Our office will be happy to answer further questions if needed.

DO CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS HURT?

No. The adjustments don’t hurt. There may be some areas that will be tender to the touch after injury. These areas will need ice therapy to reduce the swelling.

DO YOU NEED X RAYS FOR CHIROPRACTIC?

No. X rays are beneficial if they are available. If you do have x rays, please bring them into your appointment. However, Dr. Rebman does not need x rays to know where to adjust.

IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE LONG-TERM?

It depends. It all depends on the severity of your pain, the frequency, and your chiropractor’s choice of treatment.

For example, if headaches are caused by spinal distortion, vertebrae realignment is performed.

A chiropractor may suggest a few follow-up appointments, but treatment is usually short.

On the other hand, those suffering from osteoarthritis deal with pain daily.

Therapeutic massages will reduce the pain, but continued treatment is best for long-lasting pain relief.

HOW MANY ADJUSTMENTS DO I NEED BEFORE THE PAIN IS GONE?

It depends on how your body responds to the adjustment. Some people get complete pain relief from their first adjustment and some take longer. It also depends on how recent the injury is. Today is the best day to start chiropractic care.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS AFTER AN ADJUSTMENT?

Dr. Rebman may have you tone down your workout regiment in the initial phase of your chiropractic care. This will allow your body to become properly aligned so that the exercises can strengthen your body correctly.

AS A NEW PATIENT, HOW LONG IS MY FIRST VISIT?

Please allow around 45 min to an hour to complete your initial appointment with Dr. Rebman. We are confident that you will be pleased with Dr. Rebman’s expertise.

WILL I BE ADJUSTED ON MY FIRST VISIT?

Typically you will receive your adjustment on the first visit.

WHAT MAKES CHIROPRACTIC CARE BETTER THAN TRADITIONAL FORMS OF MEDICINE?

A lot.

For starters, it is important to note that chiropractors do not discourage seeing a primary care physician.

Chiropractors specialize in alleviating pain and improving mobility, not curing cancer or treating the flu.

As for the benefits, there are no drugs. Chiropractors are unable to perform surgery and write prescriptions. Your treatment is 100% natural.

This is less intimidating and the recovery time is short.

In fact, there rarely is a recovery period.

Continued physical therapy or therapeutic massages may be suggested, but there is never any hospitalization.

DO YOU HAVE SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS?

Yes. If there are available appointments, Dr. Rebman will be happy to see you. We know how busy life’s schedules are so we will do our best to accommodate yours.

HOW MUCH WILL MY CARE COST?
